Maintenance Engineer - Gpac

About the Job
The Maintenance Engineer develops and improves production processes and plant infrastructure, handling tasks from designing small components to managing large-scale machinery projects. This role encompasses all phases of engineering, including designing, implementing, installing, and overseeing the commissioning of projects, and is involved in every stage of the asset lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the reliability and upkeep of new and updated installations, leading production and maintenance teams.
- Apply engineering expertise to create design and installation specifications, along with commissioning plans; collaborates with engineering and technical teams.
- Establish criteria for evaluating equipment, technical MRO suppliers, and maintenance service providers.
- Design and implement testing methods and inspection criteria, ensuring testing methods meet standards.
- Oversee the final check-out of new installations, including factory and site acceptance tests, verifying adherence to functional specifications.
- Develop strategies to ensure reliability and maintainability of all equipment, processes, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.
- Provide engineering solutions to recurring issues that impact plant performance, covering capacity, quality, cost, and compliance concerns.
- Offer technical support to production, maintenance management, and technical staff.
- Make modifications based on prototype testing results.
- Design mechanical and electromechanical projects, researching manufacturing and assembly methods and gathering feedback from operators, and ensuring successful outcomes.
- Develop training procedures and provide instruction to Machinery Operators and Maintenance Technicians on newly installed equipment.
- Take on additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years of engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing setting with a record of innovative solutions.
- Minimum of 5 years working in or closely with an industrial maintenance department.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred.
- A proactive, self-driven approach.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact across all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and planning abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and hands-on engineering experience.
