Maintenance Engineer (3rd Shift)
Location: Columbia City, Indiana
Employment Type: Direct Hire (Full-Time)
Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 (based on experience)
Hours – 10:30PM-6:30AM, the expectation is 10PM-7AM for overlapping coverage, OT (rotating weekends with 1st and 2nd shift managers and they can schedule/swap weekends if needed)
This role will serve as the maintenance supervisor for 3rd shift maintenance. A candidate with some leadership experience is ideal (managed a small team of at least three, with little to no turnover). It is 100% onsite with less than 5% travel. If another site needs coverage, travel will be completely voluntary.
Interview – if local, the initial interview will be onsite with the possibility of a 2nd round
Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the maintenance team, ensuring high-quality work.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and address potential issues.
- Implement preventive maintenance measures.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and inventory management.
- Prevent nonconformances related to product, process, and quality systems.
- Identify and record problems related to product, process, and quality systems.
- Recommend and implement solutions through designated channels.
- Verify the implementation of solutions.
- Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming products until issues are resolved.
Qualifications:
- Experience with PLCs (Control Logix, Micro Logix, Compact Logix & SLC 500 – Rockwell software) and the ability to understand ladder logic and make programming changes.
- Experience with automation equipment (e.g., industrial robots, AGV, vision systems).
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience in industrial maintenance practices and facilities management.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems and their maintenance requirements.
- Ability to effectively supervise a team and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Excellent critical thinking skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Associate Degree or higher required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced experience with PLCs and automation equipment is highly preferred.
