Responsibilities:
May Include:
- Diagnose and repair machine failures
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and facilities.
- Respond to calls from production, shipping employees, and management to make repairs.
- Perform established preventative maintenance programs.
- Assist with all aspects of new equipment installation.
- Fabrication and welding as required.
- Prepare requisitions for parts and other equipment
- Assists with the development of preventative maintenance and work order program, and inventory control process
- Perform regular routine maintenance
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings, machine manuals, electrical blueprints / schematics.
- Ensure all equipment adheres to all applicable safety requirements.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Safe work habits, following proper LOTO and other OSHA requirements.
- “Advanced†skills in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair.
- Basic math analytical skills for handling inventory process.
- Technically-oriented ability.
- Must have own maintenance tools, including 480 volt and 3 phase electric voltmeter, and able to use.
- Able to effectively and efficiently use various maintenance tools and equipment.
- Ability to work with electrical circuits including 24 volt controls, 120-240 volt, single and three phase service.
- Capable of using programmable logic controllers to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Ability to work under pressure and ability to synthesize complex or diverse information.
- Ability to get along well, communicate timely and accurately with co-workers and supervisors
- Must be able to read and understand written and verbal policy, instruction and directions in English.Ability to stand long periods of time
- Basic ability to use Windows based computer systems.
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience with PLC's, preferably Allen-Bradley
- Good understanding of machine operation and the interaction of electrical/electronic and mechanical components
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Able to work with Arc Flash equipment (training may be provided)
- Electrical knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints/schematics
Education:
- High School diploma or GED Equivalent
- Four year skilled Trades Apprenticeship or 8 years documented experience in trade
