About the Job
Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a highly skilled Journeyman Electrician to join their team on 1st shift. This is a direct hire opportunity with competitive pay and benefits, offering the chance to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a valid Journeyman Electrician Card and a strong background in troubleshooting and maintaining complex systems, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled via CMMS.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on injection presses and coating machinery.
- Troubleshoot and service electrical systems up to 480VAC, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Read and interpret machine schematics and assembly drawings to diagnose equipment issues.
- Plan and execute electrical installations, including conduit layout, wire sizing, and proper grounding.
- Address PLC and control system malfunctions efficiently.
- Coordinate with electricians and contractors to maintain plant electrical systems per NEC and recognized standards.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on service transformers, switchgear, and distribution systems.
- Develop, implement, and train staff on site-specific electrical safety programs, including arc flash safety.
- Maintain accurate records of work activity in CMMS.
- Promote daily housekeeping and 5S practices in work areas.
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician Card (required).
- Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in diagnosing PLC and control system issues.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience with preventive maintenance systems (e.g., CMMS).
- Familiarity with electrical safety programs, including arc flash compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and housekeeping standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of injection press and cementing/coating machinery systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
