The Mundy Companies, a leader in the industrial maintenance, services, and construction fields, is currently hiring the following for a Long-Term position in the Freeport, Texas area:
MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN
5 X 8 Days, Pay determined on interview.
Successful candidates will have a minimum of three (3) years of continuous and current experience as a Maintenance Electrician in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment.
Qualified candidates will possess the ability and knowledge to:
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand and power tools
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components; inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
- Maintain current electrician’s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
- Install ground leads and power cables to equipment, such as motors
- Work from ladders, scaffolds and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures
- Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
The successful candidate will maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all time. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safe, efficient manner. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is also required. All qualified applicants must be craft certified or possess the ability to pass a craft test, as well as the ability to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen and other qualifications as required.
