About the Job
The maintenance department is responsible for maximizing equipment operation through routine maintenance duties. The overall objective of this position is to fix equipment, install upgrades, and maximize production safety based time on equipment.
Essential Accountabilities
- Support process efficiency through completing the following:
- Ensure vacuums and extruders are running
- Ovens, inline, chiller, cooling tower is working properly
- Any repairs or issues with lighting, heaters on extruders, cords, cooling fans are addressed
- Conduits are repaired and installed as needed
- Troubleshooting A/C issues, repairing if possible
- Checking oven amp readings and fuses on inline during mold changes
- Ensure the integrity of products by incorporating and complying with applicable standards and specifications and ensuring machinery is operating efficiently, effectively and safely
- Foster interdepartmental communication and collaborations through open dialogue and addressing electrical and mechanical issues and repairs as requested
- Other duties and assignments as required
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Physical Requirement: Demanding. Must have ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Employee must be able to sit, climb or balance, hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, talk, and reach with hands and arms.
Working Conditions: Duties are performed in a manufacturing plant environment: can be high heat, high humidity, exposure to electrical shock and mechanical parts, exposure to potential toxic or caustic chemicals with fumes and/or airborne particles.
Overtime: Required as needed.
Hours: Shifts vary and last 8 hours.
Education/Certifications
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Journeyman Electrician license preferred
- PLC certification preferred
Experience
- 4-6 years of relevant experience required
- 6-10 years of relevant experience preferred

- Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
- Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Technical — In-depth knowledge of ladder diagram programs from PLCs, best practices for electrical installation.
- Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Tools include: benders, hacksaw, knockout punches, screw drivers, strippers, pliers, wrenches, meters, temperature guns, fish tape, drills, band saw, taps and dies, grinders, wire wheels, nut drivers
- Verbal & Written Communication Skills –This position requires intermediate skills (Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.)
- Math Skills – This position requires intermediate skills (calculate figures/discounts, proportions, area,etc.)
