r client, a nationwide provider of high-quality food products has an immediate opening for an experienced Maintenance Director, to join their winning team in Collingswood.
Our candidate of choice will provide administrative and technical support for the Maintenance Department and be responsible for developing associates under their supervision. You will plan maintenance tasks in detailed steps designed to maximize the effectiveness, skills, materials, equipment and all other resources including but not limited to the computerized maintenance programs; must possess constant and effective communication. This role reports to the COO.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Plans, drives, and oversees maintenance system programs to meet plant requirements
- Creates and recommends purchasing plans to implement plant policies and objectives and to attain optimum utilization of machinery and materials; with overall cost reduction
- Manages a team of mechanics and is responsible for the maintenance of the entire plant and all equipment.
- Oversees and manages the system to schedule and plan preventative maintenance jobs, using KAIZEN and One Point Lesson (OPL) on a regular basis to improve plant efficiency
- Handles and reviews negotiation from contractors such as, quotes and cost estimates. All while monitoring expenditures, reconciling purchases, and maintaining accurate vendor files
- Enhance our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and other maintenance systems
- Contribute to sustainable initiatives such as site inspections and energy surveys while remaining abreast of current legislation to ensure corporate compliance
- Ability to work in a cold environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Production is preferred. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, 15 years of maintenance experience with demonstrated success in management roles is acceptable
- Ten (10) years of maintenance experience in food processing facility is required
- Ability to perform and comprehend verbal and written communication in English
- Experience in budgeting, planning, estimations and building rapport with stakeholders
- Effective leadership abilities and strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good working knowledge of regulatory, legislative, and business environment required
