Cedarhurst, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as an Maintenance Coordinator at our Cedarhurst of Edison Lakes community.
As an Maintenance Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to connect with, and positively impact the lives of, our residents daily! You will be responsible for providing residents with a safe living environment by delivering quality and timely maintenance repairs and ensuring the community is maintained exceptionally – both the interior and exterior, as well as the grounds of the community.
As an Maintenance Coordinator, working with the Maintenance Director, you will impact the lives of our residents by –
- Maintaining all areas inside the building at the highest cleanliness standards to include, but not limited to routine & deep cleaning of carpets and furniture, windows & glass, as well as maintenance and replacement of hard surface flooring.
- Maintaining grounds, including exterior building repair and lawn maintenance in cooperation with the landscaping contractor and waste removal services.
- Assisting in implementing and documenting preventative maintenance program for facility and equipment.
- Preparing and refurbishing apartments for resident move-ins; including patching & painting walls/ceiling, carpet replacement or deep cleaning, replace vinyl floors, install ceiling fans, refinish trim & cabinets.
- Maintaining fire safety and emergency records and procedures in compliance with regulations and environmental concerns (natural disasters, fires, loss of electricity, plumbing issues, pipe breakages, etc.) and maintain catalog of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Inspecting resident apartments for potential problems and hazards, repair and or report updates to Executive Director for follow up.
- Scheduling and/or performing preventative maintenance and keep quality assurance records up to date for physical plant & mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Utilizing building management software accordingly to document & track maintenance tasks, apt. turnover, & work orders
- Performing repair & maintenance of janitorial equipment and building facilities.
- Ensuring effective communication is being utilized by community staff with the residents’ families concerning residents’ care, encompassing their physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing.
- Working well with others and taking direction from management, as well as taking initiative with the capability to engage in conflict intervention and resolution for residents, families, employees, and others as needed.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand/move, communicate, and identify written information. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds independently; occasionally lift and/or move up to 200 pounds with assistance.
- Completing other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director or entire leadership team from time to time.
To become an Maintenance Coordinator, you will need –
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of past related experience preferred OR accredited maintenance training.
- Applicable state license, as required.
- CPR or BLS certification preferred.
- Desired working knowledge of carpentry including dry wall repair, painting, light plumbing, and preventative maintenance.
- Basic technical knowledge and mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment and possess a basic knowledge of construction principles.
- Be able to demonstrate proficiency in Internet browsers (e.g., Explorer, Chrome, and Fire Fox), Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word and Publisher, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and any HR related systems if applicable.
