Maintenance Coordinator Summary
The Maintenance Coordinator oversees parts inventory, including ordering critical equipment and consumables, and maintaining an organized, accurate stock. This position collaborates with vendors to ensure cost effective and timely repairs. The maintenance coordinator is tasked with getting the tools and supplies needed for the maintenance technicians to complete their jobs effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities:Facility Maintenance Technician Duties & Responsibilities
- Source, order, and ensure timely delivery of parts to effectively support maintenance and facility activities.
- Work with external vendors to arrange repair services, ensuring high-quality, timely responses.
- Maintain an accurate and organized inventory of all parts, tools, and equipment to support maintenance operations.
- Organize and digitize maintenance documentation, ensuring records are current, easily accessible, and compliant with departmental standards.
- Regularly input and update repair records in company maintenance database to maintain accurate machine histories.
- Enter required information into the ERP system on a timely basis.
- Track necessary materials and tools for preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring timely availability for maintenance staff and external vendors.
- Record completed maintenance work and compile reports on metrics such as downtime, repair costs, and inventory levels.
- Monitor parts and repair costs against budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and suggest alternative vendors or parts were beneficial.
- Ensure all tools and specialized equipment are well-maintained, organized, and accessible to facilitate safe, efficient operations.
- Coordinate and manage incoming shipments, verifying contents to maintain accurate and efficient inventory. Package and ship core parts promptly.
- Create and maintain accurate records of equipment manuals, warranties, repair histories, and SOPs for easy access by the team.
- Cultivate strong relationships with external vendors to improve lead times and negotiate favorable terms for services or repairs.
- Participate in required company meetings
- Maintain an organized work area (5S)
- Participate in the Operational Excellence Program
- Complete all other work duties as assigned
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
Machine Maintenance Technician Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience within Maintenance, preferably experience with machine and facilities maintenance
- Ability to follow directions
- Able to communicate effectively
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Research and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around chemicals, dust, fumes, and odors
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
