We are seeking an experienced and strategic Maintainability Program Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will lead efforts to integrate maintainability considerations into the design and development of our products, ensuring optimal performance, longevity, and ease of maintenance. The Maintainability Program Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide expertise in maintainability engineering, and contribute to the creation of innovative, reliable, and easily maintainable products.
Key job responsibilities
Design Integration:
Lead efforts to integrate maintainability principles into the early stages of product design.
Collaborate with design, engineering, product teams to influence design decisions for optimal maintenance outcomes.
Maintainability Analysis:
Conduct thorough analyses of product designs to identify potential maintainability challenges.
Provide recommendations and solutions to enhance ease of maintenance and reduce lifecycle costs.
Documentation Validation:
Review and validate the creation of comprehensive maintenance manuals, PM procedures, and maintenance training. Ensure clarity, accuracy, and user-friendliness of all maintenance-related documentation. Validate knowledge smoothly transfers to ensure effective execution of maintenance tasks.
RSPL Validation:
Collaborate with Reliability Engineers and suppliers to evaluate and select components that align with maintainability goals. Ensure availability of spare parts and support from suppliers for efficient maintenance.
Prototype Testing:
Participate in prototype testing to identify and address maintainability challenges.
Refine maintenance procedures and documentation based on testing outcomes.
Root Cause Analysis:
Conduct root cause analyses for maintenance issues and implement corrective actions.
Reliability Engineering:
Collaborate with reliability engineers to ensure products meet reliability and maintainability standards. Contribute to failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to address potential issues.
Continuous Improvement:
Provide feedback to design teams for continuous improvement based on real-world maintenance experiences.
A day in the life
On a daily basis you will be expected to collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program and product managers, and internal customers including site maintenance and operations teams, to ensure the product you are deploying, is both ready for deployment and capable of achieving the business requirements. You will travel to your project sites, collaborate both virtually and in person, to ensure all business stakeholders are aligned on program status. You will communicate with your internal customers, ensuring a proper handover (training, spare parts inventories, machines functional and achieving ramp up targets.
About the team
The Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging Customer Experience (MSP CX) team works backwards from Internal Customer insights to Validate, Deploy and Support MSP solutions in Brownfield and Greenfield Sites globally, maximizing solutions readiness and customer satisfaction. MSP CX maintains unified accountability in the field towards our internal Customers (RME, Ops, ACES, PE, GES, etc.), enabling vertical integration and life-cycle management of MSP solutions across 3 pillars: (I) Quality Assurance (MSP CX-QA), (II) Deployment & Ramp-up (MSP CX-DR), and (III) Support (MSP CX-S).

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Travel needed 50% of time.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
- 4+ years of Project Management experience including scope, schedule management software, budget, quality, interactions with subcontractors, along with risk and critical path management
- 4+ years of experience managing projects in a Robotics Deployment, Construction, Field Engineering, Network Infrastructure, or Manufacturing environment
- 1+ yearsâ?? experience with business intelligence and data visualization and reporting tools (e.g. Tableau)
- Ability to take independent initiative when presented with a business need
- Proven experience deploying technical equipment in a field environment
- Experience generating and reviewing technical documentation
- Experience with LEAN or Six Sigma
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Must be proficient in standard office software tools and processes

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
