Job Title: Mainframe Software Engineer
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Position Type: Contract – 6 Months
Rate: DOE (W2/1099/C2C)
Description:
• Demonstrated experience with Waterfall, Agile or other rapid application development methods
• Demonstrated experience with Mainframe - JCL, COBOL is required
• Demonstrated experience in DB2 (Stored Procedure, Data Replication, Performance Tuning) is required
• Demonstrated experience in coding native SQL and Stored Procedures is required.
• Experience with Middleware Utilities (e.g., Data Power, MQ/MQ Series) is a plus
• Demonstrated experience with Job scheduling (e.g, Job Trac, Control M) is required
• Experience with REXX, SYNCSORT, File-Aid, Xpediter, and Easytrieve is a plus
• Experience with web services and open API development, as well as SOA concepts, is a plus
• Experience with fraud and customer privacy domain is a plus
• Knowledge of Object Oriented programming (e.g., Pega, Java, .NET) is a plus
• Ability to effectively communicate across third parties and technical and business product managers on solution design
• Ability to think abstractly and deal with ambiguous/under-defined problems
• Ability to enable business capabilities through innovation
Responsibilities:
• Participates in all technical aspects of software development for assigned applications; Participates in hands-on architecture, analysis, design, and development of systems
• Functions as a member of an agile team and helps drive consistent development practices – tools, common components, and documentation
• Develops deep understanding of tie-ins with other systems and platforms within the supported domains
• Typically spends 70-80% of time writing code and testing, and remainder of time collaborating with stakeholders through ongoing product/platform releases
• Provides continuous support for ongoing application availability. Identifies opportunities to adopt innovative technologies
