Hours: M-F 8-5
Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and organized Mailroom Clerk to join our team in Reading, PA. As a Mailroom Clerk, you will be responsible for handling incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and other office deliveries. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, efficient, and able to work well under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sorting and Distributing Mail
- Sort incoming mail, packages, and deliveries by department or recipient and ensure timely and accurate distribution.
- Outgoing Mail
- Prepare outgoing mail, including letters, packages, and other correspondence. Ensure proper postage and delivery method (e.g., USPS, FedEx, UPS).
- Package Handling
- Receive, log, and track packages, ensuring they are delivered to the correct departments or individuals.
- Mailroom Inventory Management
- Keep track of office supplies, postage, and other materials related to mailroom operations. Reorder supplies as needed.
- Data Entry and Recordkeeping
- Maintain records of incoming and outgoing shipments, including tracking numbers and delivery dates. Utilize software to log mailroom activities.
- Customer Service
- Provide assistance to staff with questions related to mail deliveries or package tracking. Serve as a point of contact for external couriers and vendors.
- Maintaining Cleanliness and Organization
- Ensure the mailroom is kept clean and organized, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Special Deliveries
- Handle sensitive or urgent deliveries, including ensuring confidentiality and secure delivery to intended recipients.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in office administration or logistics is a plus.
- Previous experience in a mailroom or similar administrative role is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and carry packages of various sizes (up to 50 lbs).
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, data entry).
- Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently.
Compensation:
$18/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
