About the Job
The Operations Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the mail operations staff, ensuring staff coverage, time management, meeting key performance indicators, safety and quality control, while implementing process improvements and best practices throughout the organization. The Operations Manager will coordinate everything necessary with the team to meet customer demand on time and manage day-to-day operations to achieve maximum efficiency at minimum cost. The Operations Manager will be responsible for generating reports as required to keep controls established by the organization and complete tasks assigned by the Site Manager or Director of Operations.
Experience working in the United States Postal Services or the postal/mailing industry is required.
We are hiring for 2 Operations Manager as described below:
1. AM Shift from 5:00 am to 2:00 pm
2. PM Shift from 3:00 pm to 12:00 am
Note: The training for this position will take place in our Headquarters in Weston, FL. Candidates must be willing to travel to FL for the duration of the training (4-6 weeks). The company will cover the following expenses: airfare, hotel, car rental and meals per our business travel policy.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices.
- Manages workforce and forecasts labor needs.
- Manages all operations, including administrative associates, in the absence of the directors.
- Ensure all operations are carried out in an appropriate, cost-effective way.
- Conducts periodic associate performance review and engages in performance conversations to increase or develop associate performance or training needs.
- Develop associates through learning and development, corrective action measures, coaching, and progressive discipline.
- Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs.
- Assertive communication with supervisors and team leaders.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the production area.
- Collaborates with the Site Manager, Safety Manager, and other team members to develop, improve and innovate performance or safety processes.
- Maintains proper documentation on staff attendance, and coaching sessions.
- Other duties assigned from time to time.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Experience in management operations and leadership.
- Knowledge and understanding of the postal industry and mail operations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Organized and proactive.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to be highly organized and to set priorities and deadlines.
- Capacity to work under pressure to meet goals and objectives.
- Ability to build trust and relationships among managers, associates, and customers.
Education and Experience
- Minimum 2 years of operations manager experience or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in the United States Postal Services or the postal/mailing industry is required
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Bachelor's degree or 2 years related experience.
