PGS Worldwide is actively seeking a skilled Machinist to support ongoing projects for an Aerospace leader in Stratford, CT. This is an initial 12-month contract-to-hire opportunity and I will respond immediately to all qualified candidates.
Job Description:
Plans the layout, fabrication, and testing of mechanical devices; sets up and operates any type of precision machine tool to make original parts, tools, mechanisms, and devices for experimental purposes. May be required to solve problems relative to work-holding arrangement, unusual materials, machine settings, tools, product specifications, and fabrication methods for production process. Normally performs precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions for research engineers in a developmental laboratory condition. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Performs a variety of activities which involve standard procedures. Gathers and manipulates common data, verifies adequacy and appropriateness; develops charts, diagrams, and standard reports. In technical or production positions, may also set up and operate standard electronic or mechanical equipment used to develop, produce and/or test products or process data.
Will be working with:
• HURCO VMX42SRTi 5-axis machining Center
• FADAL 6030, 4020, 3016 CNC Vertical Machining Centers
• Supertec Planotec 1224 NC grinder
• Fryer/ Siemens 828 HC-CNC Control Toolroom Lathe
• Primary machine programming utilizes Mastercam Software
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- US Citizenship
