GENERAL SUMMARY
The Machinist is responsible for fabrication and layout on a variety of parts or products involving close tolerances. Must set up and operate all machine shop machines to cut, bend, machine or form parts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for quality of work performed in machine shop area. Accountable for fabrication and layout on a variety of parts or products involving close tolerances. Must set up and operate all machine shop machines to cut- bend, machine, or form parts. Uses a variety of machine shop hand tools and measuring instruments.
Assists Lead in all functions of the machine shop including workflow and process improvement.
Responsible for keeping both machinery and plant area in good working order, including cleaning and maintenance of machine shop equipment and all tools involved in daily production.
Abides by all policies, procedures, and guidelines of the company including good common sense safety practices.

Performs all job assignments as instructed by the Lead, Manufacturing Supervisor, Plant Manager and/or Vice President of Operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) plus one-year certificate from college or technical school and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Must have working knowledge to read and interpret prints.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Basic skills in CNC programming and precision hand tools are required. Technical training with emphasis in machining and related subjects highly desirable.
Compensation details: 22-25 Hourly Wage
