System One is hiring machinist that have worked in commerical nulcear industry within 365 days.
Repair, refurbish, and replace worn or damaged mechanical components, including valves, pumps, turbines, and heat exchangers. Collaborate with maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues. Perform adjustments and alignments to ensure proper equipment functionality. Adhere to all nuclear regulatory and safety standards, including radiation safety protocols. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including inspection reports and maintenance logs. Conduct work in compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other plant staff to support outage activities and routine operations. Provide input on machining methods, tooling, and design improvements to enhance reliability. Maintain and calibrate machine shop tools and equipment. Ensure all tools are in compliance with plant procedures and quality assurance standards. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics. Strong knowledge of machine shop tools and equipment. Ability to work with tight tolerances and high precision. Familiarity with nuclear power plant operations is a plus. Journeyman Machinist certification or equivalent. ASME or ANSI certifications for specialized machining.
The Machinist is responsible for performing high-precision machining tasks to support the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of nuclear power plant systems and components. This role involves working with complex machinery, tools, and materials to meet strict safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Machining and Fabrication:
- Operate lathes, mills, grinders, and other machine tools to fabricate and repair plant components.
- Perform precision measurements and inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other tools to ensure accuracy.
- Work with a variety of materials, including metals, alloys, and specialized materials used in nuclear applications.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in machining preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a machinist, preferably in nuclear industry

Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a machine shop environment and on-site at the plant.
- May involve exposure to heat, noise, and potentially hazardous materials.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.
- Participation in emergency response and outage activities may be required.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a background check, drug screening, and obtain unescorted access to the nuclear facility.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
