Machinist Apprentice - Hydromat

About the Job
A machinist apprentice sets up CNC and manual machine(s), inspects and/or grinds parts to design specifications in the tool room as required when inspection duties are completed. The individual sets up and operates a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments out of metal, including precision instrument makers who fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. This individual may also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. Will complete 8,000 hour training program focused on achieving a Journeyman Machinist status.
This position requires:
- High school diploma or GED
- NIMS level I credentials or equivalent basic machining knowledge
- Must be self-motivated and work well in a team environment
- Willingness to learn
Additional experience:
- NIMS level II is a plus
- Technical Associates Degree highly preferred
This position requires a first shift work schedule.
