The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to completing assignments in the fabrication, assembly, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of equipment parts, tools, models, and equipment that require a high degree of accuracy and precision. Predominantly operate manual lathes and milling machines, to cut and produce precision parts for machines, instruments, and tools. Machinist repair or produce parts using both manual and automated equipment with precise measurements. The employee is expected to employ some skills of precision manual machining, and CNC programing/operation, as per training administered.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.
* Manufacture a wide variety of components through the operation of lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and similar equipment, gauging work carefully by using precision tools, fabricated mechanical devices, and units.
* Fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures to support operations.
* Repairs mechanical production equipment components and prototypes.
* Demonstrates mechanical-troubleshooting ability, identifies and resolves issues utilizing systematic problem solving methods.
* Possess the ability to describe and understand the components on packaging equipment.
* Demonstrates the ability to read and understand component drawing, blue prints, equipment manuals and technical manuals.
* Perform machine shop equipment installations/setup and preventive maintenance.
* Maintains work area, tools and equipment in a clean and safe manner.
* This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.
* Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.
* Attendance to work is an essential function of this position.
* Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Required:
* High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-3 months related experience and/or training.
* Basic Mathematical Skills
* Intermediate Computer Skills: Ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.
* Minimum Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak in a way that allows one to participate effectively in various conversations. Ability to read various types of standard items addressed to general readers.
* Very High Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in math or diagram form and deal with several abstract/concrete variables.
Preferred:
* Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
* Ability to demonstrate attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
* Ability to display original thinking and creativity.
* Considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the machinist's trade.
* 3-5 years of experience minimum in the trade which may include an apprenticeship and/or applicable vocational training and should include some experience as a machinist; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
* Ability to work from plans, blueprints, sketches, models, and oral or written instructions, and to exercise judgment in determining techniques and methods.
* Extensive knowledge of manual machining processes on knee mills and lathes. Some knowledge of CNC programming and CNC machine operation.
