POSITION SCOPE
The Machinist will perform various duties in preparing parts for assembly of equipment, including operating various machining equipment. This is an hourly position that reports directly to the Machining Foreman.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Perform various machining and fabrication duties
- Assist with checking accuracy and quality of all phases of fabrication
- Operate basic shop equipment, including shear, press, iron worker, etc.
- Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required
- Maintain accurate records and paperwork for projects
- Contribute to a positive work environment
- Demonstrate awareness, engagement, and accountability for work results
- Communicate effectively and appropriately with others in the work environment
- Adherent to company policies as dictated in the current employee handbook
- Take an active role in company programs, meetings, and events
- Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS
- Math skills to take precise measurements and make calculations
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans based on specifications
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process
- Ability to move roughly 50 to 75 pounds and remain stationery throughout a shift
- Understanding of health and safety regulations to reduce the risk of workplace accidents
