Machine Shop Manager 

We are currently working with an Industrial Machinery & Equipment, Manufacturer that manufactures and supplies processing equipment and is in search of a Machine Shop Manager.  

The Machining Manager is responsible for overseeing all machine shop personnel, and working to meet the company’s expectations for safety, adherence to quality standards, and ensuring parts are manufactured according to the requirements of the production schedule cost-effectively.  

Essential functions:  

Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas of machine shop production.  Work continuously to improve in all areas.

• Monitor all expenses incurred by the machining groups.  Plan and oversee budgets for machining groups.
• Assist the Director of Operations and the Production Manager with managing the production schedule and reviewing upcoming projects with group leaders regularly.  Hold/attend production meetings.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in the machining industry.  Have product knowledge and ability to set-up, operate, and program equipment in the machining department.
• Ability to accurately read and understand blueprints and their symbols and to apply them to the job at hand.
• Good mathematical skills.
• A proficient understanding of the different metals that they work with.
• Understand the safety policies of the shop and follow the shop safety practices.
