We are seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Operator and a Forklift Operator to join our team. This position involves operating and maintaining coating and laminating machines to meet production goals. The Machine Operator or Forklift Operator will ensure product quality, maintain safety standards, and handle materials efficiently. Hours: 1st & 2nd Shift hours available
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Operate coating and laminating machines to produce high-quality products according to customer specifications.
- Perform pre-production setup, including loading raw materials, adjusting machine settings, and ensuring cleanliness.
- Move product using forklift and pallet jack equipment.
- Monitor and adjust machine speed, tension, and airflow to maintain optimal production conditions.
- Handle silicone, non-silicone, and adhesive mixes, ensuring proper consistency by pumping or adding by hand.
- Perform routine quality checks such as visual inspections to identify defects and ensure compliance with product specifications.
- Use basic hand tools (e.g., screwdriver, socket set) to assemble or disassemble machinery as needed.
- Utilize hydraulic lifts and manual equipment to load and unload materials safely.
- Record production data in systems for accurate inventory tracking and process management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues to minimize downtime.
- Follow safety procedures and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, and hearing protection.
- Perform periodic maintenance on machines and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 12-18 months of experience operating coating or similar machinery preferred.
- Ability to lift and move up to 70 lbs independently and up to 200 lbs with assistance.
- Experience working with silicone, adhesives, and various coating materials is a plus.
- Familiarity with basic math calculations for weight, volume, and distance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions, job folders, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency with machine adjustments, such as speed and tension, using hand controls or touch screens.
- Knowledge of basic hand tools and troubleshooting procedures.
- Ability to work near moving mechanical parts and in environments with moderate to loud noise levels.
- PPE compliance, including use of gloves, safety shoes, and hearing protection, as required.
