About the Job
The Packaging Machine Operator A (PMO A) position is responsible for the operation of assigned packaging equipment while meeting and exceeding all safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
Must inspect settings for codes, dates, leaks, oxygen levels, and seals to ensure proper operation of all the packaging equipment.
Job Function Statements - Essential Functions:
- Responsible to operate all packaging machines efficiently
- Support with on the floor training
- Conduct with packaging technician on testing new products
- Routinely solicits input & improves the process
- Assist other PMOs with their lines
- Abilities to make improvements to the process
- Responsible to set up & achieve 100% startup of packaging machine with no guidance
- Assures Quality products are being produced
- Communicate and direct members (i.e., packers)
- Finalize all required documentation
- Maintain completing Clean, Inspect, Lubricate process
- Interconnect well in one-on-one reviews
- Conduct maintenance with mechanical troubleshooting
- Successfully pass machine operator training classes in accordance with the Continuous Skills Development Program
- Works safely and follows all basic safety rules to help prevent accidents
- Successfully pass Safety Training provided by the Continuous Skills Development Program
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
Other Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- Stand for the duration of the shift (8 hours or more), perform repetitive motions throughout the shift such as push/pull/lift, twist, stoop, and bend continuously through the shift
- Climb stairs or step up onto a platform several times throughout the shift.
- Work in a noisy, wet, and cold environment of approximately 34 degrees Fahrenheit
- Work 6 or more consecutive days including overtime, any shift, late nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
