I.
JOB SUMMARY:
Machine Operator I position is responsible for operating and setting up of at least 1 full line of production equipment (up to 3 machines) as per plans received from Lead or Supervisor. Ensure safety measures in the workplace are adhered to, set up machines, and perform first article inspections on parts produced. This position will report directly to the Production Supervisor.
II.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Responsible for operating and mechanical setup of machinery that involves cutting and/or drilling parts on a single blade table saw, powered gang rip saws, CNC saws and drilling centers based on production plan requirements; must follow plan and complete cut list assigned to achieve production goals.
· Accurately report WO transactions including scrap and daily operations data (including downtime)
· Responsible for moving pallets of production as well as stacking material from a pallet to a conveyor or table and vice versa.
· Operate any other machinery used in the production process.
· Remove manufactured product pieces from machines and check to ensure that they conform to specifications.
· Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected and notify lead/supervisor of any malfunctions.
· Troubleshoot & accurately report machine issues to maintenance and/or other support groups.
· Responsible for maintaining a safe and organized production area.
· Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually.
· Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances.
· Help production workers by supplying or holding materials or tools, and cleaning work areas and equipment.
· Will perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Machine Operator I:
Prior knowledge of operating powered equipment such as table saws, CNC machines, continuous lamination presses is highly recommended.
**Note: anyone with knowledge/experience in a metal processing or fabrication plant will do well here. People that have used laser cutting machines, turret presses, CNC machines and other medium size floor standing general machinery for processing wood, plastic or metals will be able to learn and operate on saw mill equipment due to certain familiarities between the machines

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Experience:
6 months to 1 year of machine operating experience
Must have previous experience in hand tools usage.
Previous experience with Forklift preferred but not required.
Skills:
Must have basic reading/writing skills.
Must be able to perform metric measurements with tape and measure with calipers
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to assess and prioritize tasks.
Ability to read and understand drawings.
