Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machine Mechanic to join our team. The Machine Mechanic will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production machinery by performing repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production manufacturing, mechanical systems, and electromechanical troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production machinery, equipment, and components.
- Fabricate parts using equipment such as lathes and milling machines as needed for emergency repairs.
- Conduct electrical and electromechanical troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues.
- Repair and replace defective machine components, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Manager and production team to address machine breakdowns efficiently.
- Perform welding tasks when necessary to support repair efforts (preferred but not required).
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Adhere to company safety standards and practices during all maintenance operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or vocational training in mechanical or electrical systems preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in production machinery maintenance and repair within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting and repair techniques.
- Experience with electrical and electromechanical systems troubleshooting.
- Skilled in operating lathes, milling machines, and other fabrication tools.
- Welding experience is a plus.
- Plumbing experience is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
