About the Job
A medical assistant provides in-department clinical support, with responsibilities that include rooming patients, collecting patient information, preparing patients for examination, assisting with procedures, and helping with overall delivery of compassionate patient care.
As a MiT, you can become a medical assistant without having experience in the medical field! This is a paid 16-week training program with a service commitment to work for Vancouver Clinic upon completion. *CNA, Medical Receptionist, Front Office Assistant welcome to apply!
As a MiT, you will:
- Earn as you learn: All MiT's will be full time, benefit-eligible employees with a non-negotiable $16.28 hourly pay rate and $130 weekly stipend* (equivalent hourly rate of $19.53/hr.)
- Hands-on education: In the program, you will complete 12-weeks of on-site, classroom training and skills lab before your 160-hour clinical rotation.
- MA Certification: After finishing your coursework and clinical rotation, you'll be ready to take the national exam and obtain the CCMA credential through NHA. Once you pass, you'll earn a pay increase and advance to a MA-Registered 2 in either Family Medicine or MSK.

Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS), or obtain within 60-days of hire.
- Commit to attendance requirements for duration of the program
- Must obtain Washington State Medical Assistant credential within required timeframe and maintain in active status throughout employment.

Pay Range:
$16.00 - $22.40

Benefits-eligible employees accrue PTO and Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked, totaling 120 hours in the first year for full time staff and 200 hours in the first year for full time supervisors and above, increasing in subsequent years. PTO and Personal Time accruals are pro-rated by FTE/hours worked. Non-benefits eligible employees will accrue Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked.
