Responsibilities / Tasks
A Lyophilizer Field Service Engineer assists and performs the installation, start-up, commissioning, evaluation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairing of the GEA pharmaceutical lyophilizers at customer sites. In addition, they assist with the performance of factory acceptance tests in Germany from time to time. A GEA FST will travel up to seventy-five percent of the time. – All work is to be performed in strict compliance with GEA and a particular customer’s Safety, cGMP, and Quality System requirements.
The following tasks are performed at customer locations in Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico and the USA
- Working supervision of local forces receiving and installing GEA Lyophilizers.
- Working supervision of start-up, commissioning, IQ, OQ, and SAT of GEA Lyophilizers.
- Perform preventative maintenance services which includes proper completion of associated records.
- Perform calibration services which includes proper completion of associated records.
- Working supervision of local forces rebuilding and upgrading installations in cooperation with the responsible specialist departments.
- Investigate and troubleshoot problems, make repairs recommendations, and then perform the repairs.
- Write service call reports and follow up with customers and affiliates as required.
- Contribute to team effort by working the necessary hours, including reasonable overtime, to satisfy the customer and/or complete the task completing all tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.
- Be the “Face of GEA”; good people skills and professional behavior are required.
Your Profile / Qualifications
The following tasks are performed at GEA sites in Europe and the USA (driver’s license and ability to travel internationally are a must)
- Assist with the performance of Lyophilizer Factory Acceptance Tests.
- Attend Lyophilizer FSE product training sessions.
- Write service call reports and follow up with customers and affiliates as required.
- Remote support of customers via telephone and email communications.
- Contribute to team effort by working the necessary hours, including reasonable overtime, to satisfy the customer and/or complete the task completing all tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.
