Summary
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the entire logistics operation, including transportation, and delivery of raw materials and finished products. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that the company’s epoxy coatings are delivered efficiently and in optimal condition to meet customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, an understanding of supply chain processes, and experience in the manufacturing industry.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Logistics and Supply Chain Management:
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to support the business's growth and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of raw materials and products.
- Select carriers for transportation and negotiate rates and contracts with selected vendors
- Work with Customer Service and Accounting to ensure proper filing and resolution of FedEx claims
- Manage the freight claims process with carriers to ensure collection of filed claims.
Transportation and Delivery:
- Negotiate and manage contracts with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
- Plan and monitor the safe and efficient transportation of materials and products, including managing domestic and international shipping.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including hazardous materials handling and environmental safety standards.
Process Optimization:
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies in the supply chain, reduce costs, and streamline workflows.
- Implement and monitor KPIs related to logistics performance, such as on-time delivery and freight costs.
Team Leadership:
- Provide guidance and direction to the Shipping Supervisor(s) to ensure timely and efficient shipping and receiving operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments (e.g., production, quality control, sales) to align logistics activities with overall business objectives.
- Keep upper management promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative courses of action which may be taken
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the warehouse and during transportation.
- Maintain records and reports related to hazardous material handling and transportation, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Supervision Received
This position reports to the Director of Operations.
People Contact
Ability to work with other employees, customers and vendors. The Logistics Manager is an essential point of contact for the company.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in logistics management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment (experience in epoxy coating or chemical industry is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, and transportation management.
- Experience with 4-5 carriers across the country in different carrier lanes.
- Experience with logistics software and ERP systems. Experience with Netsuite is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimize operations and reduce costs.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Computer proficiency is required. Must be able to work with NetSuite, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets.
Education And/Or Experience
Required: Degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field, or 5-10 years of experience in logistics management.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Required: Valid Driver’s License, Forklift Operators License
Language Skills
Must be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally in English to interact with clients and other employees.
Ability to write and read reports.
Mathematical Skills
Must be able to formulate and comprehend business math calculations. Excellent basic arithmetic skills
Physical Demands
The physical requirements consist of walking, turning the head and torso, stooping, kneeling, reaching, grasping, bending, and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, hands, and fingers. The senses of being able to see, hear, and have full power of speech are required.
Willing and able to lift/carry up to 70 lbs.
Travel
Occasional travel may be required between the company’s Texas locations.
Work Environment
Exposure to warehouse environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes, chemicals and adhesives.
May be required to go outside for the purpose of viewing product with a customer, which may be hot, cold, wet, and dirty.
This is a position that is visible to the public therefore professional appearance and conduct is required.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
