As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our skilled nursing facility, you'll be a key pillar in our commitment to providing exceptional care. Your responsibilities will encompass administering medications, monitoring patients and residents' well-being, and collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to develop personalized care plans. You'll also have the chance to mentor and guide our nursing assistants, nurturing their growth under your wing.

We are currently looking for talented Licensed Practical Nurses to join our care team! We currently have opportunities for full-time and part-time commitments with a variety of shift times and shift lengths on our Post Acute Unit within our Skilled Nursing Facility.

We offer the following differentials on top of the hourly rate of pay:

• Evening $3 per hour
• Night $5 per hour
• Weekend $2 per hour (in addition to applicable shift differentials)

A sign-on bonus of up to $7,500 is available for LPN positions!

Subject to applicable taxes, the bonus is paid in three installments: 1st after 90 days, 2nd after one year, and 3rd after two years. Bonus recipients must commit to continuous full-time or part-time employment in an eligible position for two years with Porter Medical Center. Please note that current University of Vermont Health Network employees are excluded from eligibility for this bonus.

Requirements:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with a current, unencumbered, LPN licensure or compact licensure recognized by The State of Vermont required.

Experience:

Previous long term care experience is preferred, but not required.

About the Post Acute Unit
The goal of the Post Acute Unit at UVMHN Helen Porter Rehabilitation & Nursing is to provide supportive, goal-directed care following surgery and/or hospitalization. Specially-designed treatment programs provide patients with the preparation, support and education that enables them to return home as quickly as possible. Our goal is to help patients reach their highest possible level of independence. A partial list of conditions we work with includes strokes, neurological conditions, orthopedic care, respiratory conditions, and cardiac and post-trauma situations.

Routine Therapy services are provided Monday through Friday. We also have the capability of providing therapy six days a week if that is what is required to maximize positive results. Nursing staff provide the necessary extension of therapies when therapy staff are not present to provide direct service. This may include walking, exercises and supervision of other activities set up by the therapy staff.
