Job Summary:
The Clinic LPN shall begin the nursing process as delegated by the Physician/ FNP, including but not limited to patient care documentation, direct observation, and patient process evaluations. Performs under the direct supervision of the Clinic Manager and is required to achieve quality patient care and job performance measured through reporting, direct and indirect observation, evaluation, feedback, and skills check-offs. Acquires and applies knowledge of Forrest Health’s processes, policies, protocols, and procedures. Appropriately communicate and interact with employees and family members of all ages while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Assist with clinical operations and will also assist with any education and clerical responsibilities as needed or when delegated.
Will float and travel to other clinics to provide coverage on occasions as volume and situation necessitates. Perform any other duties not listed as assigned by Clinic Manager and Physician and/or Mid-Level Provider.
Performance Expectations:
 Follows all policies, workflows, and protocols regarding clinic operations and patient care.
 Assist assigned Provider with patient care.  Maintains and assists with charts and records in both electronic and paper form.
 Utilizes the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate and provide care appropriate to the patients' age, cultural, and religious needs using the principles of growth and development.
 In addition to patient care, I will handle and process phone calls, patient intake, daily filing, opening/closing charts, making copies of patient information for billing department or insurance purposes, and communicating supply needs when needed.
 Performs pre-certing/prior authorizations, patient referrals, and seating patients in examination rooms as required.
 Responds to patient communication and care request communications promptly.
 Reads data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described by the physician in charge.
 Assist with various procedures, exams, and/or diagnostic equipment operations.
 Uses the appropriate aseptic technique, preparation, and method for medications and vaccinations administered.
 Safely and accurately handles, transports, administers, and documents medications and vaccines utilizing standards set forth in Patient Care policies and by institutional organizations such as CDC, VFC, MSDH, etc
 Utilizes MIIX to coordinate and execute vaccine management with VFC and MSDH.
 Efficiently uses point of care test according to manufacturer instructions and documents results accurately and timely.
 Makes accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical record.
 Executes physician/mid-level provider orders both verbally and in writing, posting charges and results for labs and procedures as appropriate.
 Maintains a clean, orderly, safe environment for patients and personnel.
 Adheres to and ensures patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
 Accesses and maintains access to external websites to complete patient care workflows.
 Commits little to no mistakes and urgently reports any issues to Manager and follows proper steps to resolution.
 Assist with routine courier runs to the hospital as well as make runs to meet external staff to pick up/deliver supplies, etc.
 Responsible for filling in when receptionist is out.
 Monitors Epic Dashboards, In-baskets, and Messaging applications in addition to company email for important communications and takes action when applicable.  Utilizes various reports, dashboards, and work queues to complete clinical and operational tasks.
 Communicates with all clinic and health system personnel respectfully and by Employee Handbook standards.
 Performs all functions efficiently and effectively and within required and assigned timeframes.
 Behavior at work and away from the facility positively reflects on the profession, facility, and organization. Behavior must coincide with the facility's Code of Conduct and the State Board of Nursing.
 If applicable, must acquire and follow RHC standards and policies.  Adheres to and promotes the organization's established values (We CARE, ACO, Language of Caring, safety, Code of Conduct, HIPAA, compliance standards, and all others).
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Graduate of a recognized LPN program. Essential business and computer skills are required. Associate degree preferred.
Work Experience:
Physician office or clinic nursing experience preferred. VFC experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
ï‚· Licensed LPN able to practice within the State of MS
Additional Certification/Licensure - Obtained based on the required timeframe below
ï‚· Basic Life Support Within 30 Days of Employment Required

Must enjoy people and desire to assist doctors, patients, fellow employees, and hospital staff. Strong communication skills are essential. Must be cooperative with others, take orders, and follow directions. Must exercise remarkable tact, poise, and patience in dealing with the public. An individual must have a high energy level and be capable of handling both mentally and physically high-pressure situations.
