LP QA Tech Sr - Golden State Foods

JOB SUMMARY:  Performs a variety of technical food product tests, process checks, and audits to ensure compliance with company, process, and product quality, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations and achieve continuous improvement objectives. Must be available to work 3rd shift work schedule 10:00PM-6:30AM.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Conducts, analyzes, and compiles the results of samples, tests, and audits on raw, in-process, and finished products and processes to ensure compliance with product consistency, safety, and quality standards and to increase production efficiency. Participates in process optimization and other special projects.  (45%)

1. Administers QA policies and procedures (plant QA hold/rework policy, HACCP, GMP, etc.) to reduce waste, increase regulatory compliance, and improve production efficiency. (15%)

1. Maintains records and logs of tests, audits, and other quality procedures to ensure availability of accurate and thorough information. (15%)

1. Trains new employees on GSF-specific techniques and practices. (10%)

1. Routinely interacts with plan personnel to provide QA and safety-related information and to keep GSF and customers apprised of quality and safety concerns, opportunities for preventive maintenance, techniques, and regulations. (10%)

1. Calibrate and maintain testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of QA procedures. (5%)

1. Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Education and experience equivalent to:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree in food science, chemistry, microbiology, or related field of science from an accredited college or university

Experience:

2 to 4 years of relevant work experience, with an understanding of food safety and regulations.

*The expected range for this position is $50,000-$60,000/year.
