The career for you:
The Low Voltage Electrician is responsible for assisting a team of low voltage technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of all low voltage systems in the company's facilities. This includes security systems, fire alarm systems, access control systems, fiber optic cabling, CCTV systems, and network cabling. The Low Voltage Lead Technician must be able to troubleshoot and repair problems quickly and efficiently, and must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist our team of low voltage technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of all low voltage systems in the company's facilities.
- Assign tasks to and oversee the work of low voltage technicians.
- Train and mentor low voltage technicians.
- Ensure that all low voltage systems are installed, maintained, and repaired to the highest standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex low voltage problems.
- Develop and implement new low voltage system installation and maintenance procedures.
- Manage the low voltage budget.
- Work with the Low Voltage Supervisor to develop and implement new low voltage systems.
- Respond to emergency service calls in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete projects.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience working with low voltage systems, including at least one year of experience in a supervisory role.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of low voltage systems, including security systems, fire alarm systems, access control systems, CCTV systems, and network cabling.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to test and troubleshoot low voltage systems.
- Ability to perform regular maintenance on low voltage systems.
- Ability to respond to emergency service calls in a timely manner.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both customers and coworkers.
- Ability to lead and supervise a team of employees.
