Lot Porter/ Detailer - Mossy Nissan Chula Vista

This is a great opportunity to start your career in retail automotive and familiarize yourself with the different vehicles on the lot. The Lot Porter/ Detailer moves and parks client vehicles in a manner that will ensure smooth and efficient traffic flow through the facility to increase client convenience and satisfaction, as well as cleans & refurbishes new and pre-owned vehicles and conforms to dealership and/or manufacturer specification & time allowances.

Employees in this position will be paid a base hourly wage ranging from the applicable minimum wage to $20.00/hr.

Responsibilities

• Retrieving the clients vehicle as notified by Management

• Places buyer guides and stock tags in vehicles, makes key tags for vehicles.

• Keeps new- and used-vehicle lots neat and orderly, moving cars as directed by the general manager and in accordance with dealership display standards.

• Cleans driveway and sidewalks

• Drives vehicles to and from service lane, service stalls, and parking lot as needed.

• Providing excellent customer service

• Inspecting vehicle for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery

• Restoring using appropriate materials

• Wash, wax, and buff the vehicle, clean interior and exterior windows

• Applying special-purpose cleaner to remove foreign materials

• Vacuum and scrub interior of vehicle using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators and cleaning devices

• Clean engine and engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment

• Apply dressing on tires and tire wells

• Utilize special purpose cleaners to ensure lasting cleanliness of vehicles

• Operate all tools in a safe manner by using proper eye, hand & body protection and report any safety issues immediately to management

• Maintaining showroom and stock vehicles in clean & presentable conditions at all times

Qualifications

• Ability to follow directions, instructions

• Maintaining a valid CA drivers license/clean driving record, immediately informing management of any change in license status

• Positive attitude with a high-energy personality

• Professional appearance and work ethic

• Outstanding communication skills

• Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check & drug screen
