About the Job
We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to fill our Logistics Specialist role, with three plus years of logistics experience, and a desire to learn more in the areas of supply chain and operations who could eventually take full ownership of this position. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detailed, goal-oriented, articulate and possess excellent writing and phone skills.
Responsibilities:
- Identification of Logistics transportation and warehousing solutions to address business needs
- Logistics service providers quarterly reviews, KPI and metrics
- Cost control, reporting and forecasting
- Freight invoice, payment and audit process administration
- Development and maintenance of routing guidance
- Experience working with domestic trucking transportation both for less than truckload (LTL) and a full truck load (FTL).
- Experience working in a consumer industry
- Familiar with shipping volumes to customers
- Experience filing claims with carriers for damage and loss
- Experience working with warehouse distribution and consolidation of orders
- Warehousing operations background
Requirements:
- B.S./B.A. in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
- 3+ years relevant experience in logistics or operations or traffic or in a technical field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills - Assertive team player
- Innovative problem-solver
- Self-starter able to jump in with minimal supervision
- Business savvy
