Position Overview:
As a Logistics Technician, you will be primarily responsible for in-field operational material handling duties. Your goal will be to manage the overall efficiency and performance of inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring the site's operational success and a Zero Incident performance concerning personal and process safety compliance. You will collaborate daily with operations, maintenance, quality assurance laboratory, customer care, and third-party transportation services to meet customer service level expectations and business plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure daily inbound and outbound truck, rail, and marine shipments adhere to operational plans.
- Create and implement daily logistics plans in collaboration with the material handling team, operations, quality control, customer care, and product/business management.
- Plan and execute transactions associated with scheduling loading/unloading, goods receipt and issue, material movements and storage, fleet asset management, third-party transportation providers, records management, and inventory control.
- Utilize digital tools and technology in the execution of day-to-day activities.
- Unload inbound raw materials and load outbound finished goods across three modes: truck, rail, and marine while adhering to PPE requirements and safety protocols.
- Support confined space work, including tank and transportation inspections and cleaning.
- Adhere to standard operating policies and procedures to ensure personal and site safety, product quality, and reliable equipment operations. This includes compliance with D.O.T. and U.S.C.G. regulations and HazMat certifications.
- Attend Emergency Response training, Lock Out/Tag Out requirements, PLC/HMI panel and tablet usage, asset inspections, and maintenance requests to ensure safe and reliable operations.
Qualifications:
- Experience in chemical operations, site logistics, or material handling is preferred.
- Familiarity with systems such as SAP and Microsoft tools, or a willingness to learn and utilize these tools effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in high-noise and temperature-variable environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and lift (up to 25 lbs frequently, 50 lbs occasionally) throughout full shifts.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- TWIC certification or willingness to obtain is required.
