We’re seeking an Operations Coordinator to join our team and support the day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient freight movement and helping our business grow.
Position Summary:
The Operations Coordinator will play a crucial role in coordinating and executing freight shipments, managing carrier relationships, and providing exceptional support to our clients. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the day-to-day freight operations, ensuring timely pickups, deliveries, and effective communication with carriers and clients.
- Schedule and track shipments, proactively communicating status updates and resolving issues to ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintain strong relationships with carriers, negotiating rates, and securing capacity for shipments.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation for each load, including bills of lading, invoices, and carrier paperwork.
- Assist in onboarding new carriers, ensuring they meet all company compliance standards.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional customer service and addressing inquiries related to shipments, rates, and service issues.
- Support the sales and dispatch teams by gathering and analyzing relevant data to improve operational efficiencies.
- Monitor shipment costs and work to optimize expenses while maintaining high service levels.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation coordination (preferred but not required).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with Transportation Management Software (TMS) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
