Logistics Analyst - Westlake

About the Job
- Arrange for carrier services by specific routing requirements
- Provide analysis of current and proposed transportation and operations practices to determine process and cost improvement opportunities
- Provide freight analysis and decision support systems for LTL, truckload, and other transportation systems
- Review, root cause and correct transportation system errors
- Develop relationships with corporate partners and field operations to understand needs, develop solutions and support execution of those solutions.
- Resolve service issues and help implement processes for continual improvement
- Assist with filing of carrier claims.
- Compile and maintain current, potential, and past vendor records.
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and transportation industry experience.
- Prefer a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in dispatching, freight management/brokerage, warehousing, or process development.
- Strong written and oral communication skills required
- Intermediate experience with Excel required
- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint required
- Consistently demonstrates proven ability to learn and use necessary tools
- Ability to follow process and standard procedures required
- ERP and transportation management system knowledge and usage highly desirable; JDE a plus
- Strong skills in routing software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify the root cause and articulate associated action plans
- Have strong decision making and presentation skills
- Be results driven self-motivator and proven ability to continuously improve processes and annual metrics
