Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Anesthesiology in Georgetown, TX - LocumTenens.com

A busy hospital is seeking an anesthesiologist for locum tenens coverage.
The facility is located in Georgetown, Texas.
The practice setting operates under a Care Team model, with two lines of service out of six being MD-only. The call doctor manages their own cases and runs the rooms in a hybrid setup. The types of cases include general surgery, endoscopy, healthy pediatrics over 12 years old, obstetrics, orthopedics, cardiovascular (TEE), urology, robotics, and plastics (cancer type). There are no spine, neuro, or podiatry cases, but ENT (plastics for the nose) and interventional pulmonology are included. For call coverage, its home call, with CRNAs covering epidurals in-house while doctors come in for OR call. Call rooms are available for those outside the radius, and its necessary to be on-site within 30 minutes. Call back frequency is low. The schedule includes one doctor on PTO, one on call from 7 AM to 7 AM for home call, and one post-call. The post-call doctor is typically the first out or on standby and is not called for cases about 70% of the time. The fourth doctor is pre-call and generally gets released between 1 PM and 3 PM. Anesthesia supplies are located with other OR supplies, and CRNAs are responsible for stocking the rooms. The EMR system currently uses paper charting and Meditech for orders, with a credentialing timeframe of 90 days.
