Local Evaluator for Prevention Grants

CONSULTANT VACANCY

LOCATION:  Allegany County Health Department, teleworking opportunity with use of State of Maryland issued laptop.

NATURE OF WORK: Looking for someone who has experience with evaluation research, survey development, and designing/conducting focus groups.  

Applicant will be able to:

• secure approval from the Institutional Review Board at MDH, seek out technical assistance on evaluation plans from Behavioral Health Resources and Technical Assistance (BHRT) Program at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.
• assist local health department (LHD) staff in designing and carrying out evaluation plans.
• collaborate with LHD in conducting local community needs assessments.
• conduct secondary data analysis using standardized datasets from national and statewide surveys.
• design and conduct focus groups and key informant interviews.
• assist in preparing grant applications and evaluation reports.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or sociology.

SALARY:  $35/hour; approximately 230 hours for the fiscal year
