About the Job
We are seeking a Loan Processor - Home Loans for the Home Loan Processing Department.
The role is responsible for the review of loan documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal, regulatory, private mortgage insurance, and investor guidelines in order to meet quality and service standards in a timely and accurate manner. The role evaluates all information supplied on the loan application, verifies the validity, and assembles a completely documented file for Underwriting and Closing. Develops solid working relationships with the Home Loan Production team to ensure an accurate and timely loan process and communicates effectively to support a quality member service experience. The role is responsible for taking incoming phones with the ability to accurately answer general mortgage questions, provide excellent customer service, and relay messages to the Loan Originator. The role is responsible for effective communication (via telephone and/or email) with members throughout the processing steps. As directed by management, the role has secondary support responsibilities for other Home Loan production teams: origination/underwriting/closing & funding/ collections and loss mitigation.

Highlights:
- Maintains a pipeline of loans and is responsible for the compliant and timely flow of such loans through the process
- Review loan files for completeness upon receipt and update data in the system of record as needed
- Acts as a liaison between the Loan Originator, members, realtors and contractors
- Attend internal & external educational learning seminars & webinars as determined by the manager in order to stay abreast of lending policies and procedures
- Plan and execute improvement and special projects up to 3 months in length as assigned by the Manager
- Verify and test for accuracy and efficiency all processes and procedures related to mortgage processing activities
Experience:
Required
Minimum 3 years of financial industry experience working with loan applications
Desire and ability to work in a production environment processing loans
Experience with managing a loan pipeline
Knowledge of credit and collateral underwriting guidelines and rules and regulations governed by state and federal agencies
Knowledgeable in real estate origination, processing, underwriting, and closing principles to include secondary marketing automated underwriting engines
Working knowledge of Fannie Mae Guidelines, DU® guidelines, and risk assessment tools used to decide mortgage loans
Preferred
Mortgage processing experience including conventional underwriting a plus
Fannie Mae processing experience a plus
Basic knowledge of mortgage
Education:

- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred
- Bachelor degree in business or related field preferred
Licenses & Certifications:
Required
Registration as Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) with National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry
Skills & Knowledge:

- Computer skills to include automated underwriting systems, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, and Fannie Mae’s Desktop Underwriter - DU®
