SUMMARY:
We are seeking strong professionals with expertise in loan processing. We need people with great communication skills who have used those skills to quickly and thoroughly process all types of consumer loans. You must have a proven track record in delivering outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Contacts by telephone, direct computer access, or letter, credit bureaus, employers, and personal references to check credit and personal references.
- Assists in the preparation of credit information necessary to establish credit limit, including such factors as applicant's assets, credit experience, and personal references, based on predetermined standards.
- Keeps record on file of credit transactions, inquiries, pending loans, Loan Activity Report by representative, Daily Loan Listing.
- Provides assistance in filing, inputting data to computer, recording information as required, answering telephones, photocopy, faxing, typing letters, etc.
- Assists team in efficiently and effectively processing the various activities involved in credit granting, and performs such additional duties as might be assigned from time to time.
- Becomes/is an advocate of The Michigan First Way, supporting all facets of it, including complete fulfillment of Our Promise, 5 STARS Service, SOLVE IT and our ISMs. Fosters a positive demeanor and image through professional representation in all contacts with both, team members and members. Consistently reflects and displays each of our “ISMs” in daily job performance, as well as in all business interactions while executing on our goals and initiatives.
- Learns and utilizes EMEC (Every Member’s Experience Counts) in day-to-day responsibilities when communicating with members only.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Performs functions in an accurate and timely manner. Maintains professional appearance and attitude. Utilizes interpersonal skills effectively in a team environment.
• High school diploma or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Previous experience with indirect processing (auto, boat, etc.) is required
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to team members and members of the organization
• Ability to operate PC, including input, output, and inquiry to member accounts and other account information required in the member service function
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and tools, such as personal computer, postage machine, fax machine, telephones, photocopier, typewriter
• Familiar with the differences in a basic number of products and services offered by other financial institutions to those offered by the credit union
