About the Job
The Loan Portfolio Analyst Sr assists with the monitoring, maintenance, analysis, and servicing of complex CRE and SBA loan portfolio, as well as with the underwriting / servicing processes of commercial participation loans. Follows the Credit Union guidelines and ensures adherence to applicable laws and regulations to ensure sound loan quality and minimal risk of loss to the Credit Union. Participates in risk analytics by performing evaluations of the Commercial/SBA loan portfolio and in the administration of new and existing Commercial/SBA loans that vary in complexity from routine to at-risk.
Responsibilities:- Collects and reviews financial statements, tax returns, and supporting documentation and enters it into financial software program for analysis. Prepares Annual Loan Reviews documenting analysis of property cash flow and global cash flow and summarizing all supporting documentation in order to determine the appropriate risk rating.
- Handles all aspects of loan servicing for assigned loans, including documentation collection, delinquency resolution, tracking adherence to covenants and conditions, contacting members/third parties to obtain all necessary information and clarification on financial analysis materials and resources, liaising with loan participants to resolve questions, and payoff/reconveyance requests, among others.
- Serves as subject matter expert for administration of and modifications to the Finastra (Credit Quest) software program and facilitates system training as needed.
- Performs CRE Loan Shock Test and preliminary risk analysis to portfolio; provides summary presentation for Board review.
- Performs periodic reviews of commercial real estate loans, with a general focus on more complex, higher balance loans, and multiple loans to related borrowers/entities.
- Ensures the accuracy and completeness of the loan servicing file for audit purposes.
- Assists Manager - Business Credit Administration with complex loan workouts and modifications.
- Reviews portfolio and evaluates whether individual loans may require placement to Watch List for monitoring and servicing.
- Maintains CRE Loan Shock Test file and modifies requirements to remain in compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines.
- Maintains open communication with existing business members.
- Performs research on complex loan issues, as requested.
- Corresponds with Technical writer to ensure accuracy of the internal department website.
- Creates and updates department’s policy & procedures and forms for version control log.
- Maintains loan servicing for commercial, participation and SBA loans. Creates and reports 1502 Colson Report according to SBA requirements.
- Prepares SBA Guaranty Purchase Packages / Offer in Compromise requests to SBA.
- Corresponds with Accounting and Asset Recovery to assist in Commercial and SBA loan charge-offs.
- Assists Accounting Department with needed Trouble Debt Restructure information for month-end reporting.
- Participates in special projects as assigned.
- Follows established processes and procedures to maintain effective controls.
- Proactively participates in process evaluation and improvement.
- Provides assistance and guidance to less experienced team members.
- Works within and directly impacts their function, occasionally interacts with other departments.
Education
- Min/Preferred: Minimum
- Education Level: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree
- Description: Bachelor's degree in business administration or related discipline
Experience
- Minimum Years of Experience: 5
- Preferred Years of Experience:
- Comments: A minimum of five years of commercial real estate credit analysis and/or asset management experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Ability
- Ability to read, interpret and analyze financial statements and to prepare cash flow and collateral analyses, as well as interest and payment calculations.
- Extensive knowledge of credit, accounting, credit policy and financial statement analysis.
- Excellent ability to analyze credits, as well as extensive knowledge of lending structure and sources and uses of cash.
- Prior experience analyzing financial data and producing summary evaluations for management and/or agency reporting purposes. Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Current knowledge of Commercial Lending and SBA regulations and SBA servicing.
- Highly developed PC skills preferred; including Microsoft Office products, advanced Excel skill.
- Working knowledge of fee calculations particular to SBA requirements.
- Previous experience presenting to Management and Executive leadership.
- Experience with Symitar is preferred.
- Experience with CRE financial statement analysis software (such as Credit Quest, nCino, SageWorks, Bukers, CASH Insight, etc. ) is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Must be capable of working well independently and in teams.
- Contribute to large projects and are a force of proposition on their scope of work towards improvements and achievement.

Pay Range:USD $29.28 - USD $43.93 /Hr.
