Role Overview:
As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you will play a crucial role in originating high-quality loans that meet industry standards and guidelines. You'll develop strong business relationships with local real estate agents and builders, educating them on our mortgage programs. Your territory will include managing relationships with First National Bank Texas and First Convenience Bank branches.
Key Responsibilities:
Originate high-quality mortgage loans in accordance with FCMC guidelines.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with local real estate agents and builders.
Educate bank employees on mortgage programs offered by FCM.
Develop contacts with partner store management teams.
Assist customers with loan applications, including credit analysis.
Conduct presentations such as First Time Home Buyer Seminars and realtor sales meetings.
Maintain ongoing communication with borrowers and real estate agents throughout the loan process.
Issue and explain pre-qualification letters, disclosures, and initial compliance documentation.
Serve as a general office manager if required, overseeing correspondence, supplies, and clerical staff schedules.
Act as a liaison between branch locations and corporate management, addressing office incidents, business needs, and client concerns.
Travel as needed to meet business requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Minimum age of 18 years.
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
2 or more years of recent mortgage origination experience.
Proficiency in VA, FHA, and conventional mortgage loan programs.
Familiarity with LP, DU Underwriting Systems.
Experience with Ellie Mae mortgage originating and processing software.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently from a home office.
Ability to review and interpret credit reports.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Comfortable working in a commission-only environment.
Successful completion of background investigation per company policy.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
Able to sit or stand for extended periods.
Proficient in operating computers and office equipment.
Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds.
