We have an excellent opportunity for a Loan Collections Specialist. United Bank is searching for driven individuals who will perform a variety of semi-complex debt collection duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for all tasks associated with collections of past-due loans including but not limited to: work out loan files in compliance with secondary market procedures, prepare and review various loan reports, monitor loan payments, track accounts to identify outstanding debt, contact customers to discuss and plan course of action to recover outstanding payments, document action plans, prepare or process loan modifications, correspondence with attorneys regarding repossessions, foreclosures, and other legal proceedings, monthly reporting to the Board, and general file maintenance. Collaborate with and assist retail and mortgage personnel with customers relations and inquiries. Responsible for areas of compliance as it relates to this position. Undertakes special projects relating to departmental services as assigned.

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience:
Two year degree from college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
No requirements for licensure, certification or registration are required.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel. Must be able to apply communication, negotiation, customer service and collection skills.
