About the Job
The LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) Manager plays a key role in overseeing and managing LNG fuel operations, safety protocols, and environmental compliance for CCL LNG-powered fleet. This position is responsible for providing support and expertise to Technical Operation Director, Technical Operations Manager and shipboard Technical Management in LNG daily operation and long-term maintenance planning including drydock and specific maintenance as per company and regulatory standards. This role collaborates closely with both shipboard and shoreside teams, as well as external regulatory bodies, to ensure that LNG operations are optimized and compliant with safety and environmental regulations. The LNG Manager plays a vital role in advancing CCL’s commitment to sustainability by optimizing LNG operations, enhancing energy efficiency, and contributing to environmental goals.
Essential Functions:
- Technical Support and Maintenance
- Provide technical oversight and support to shipboard engineers regarding LNG systems, troubleshooting issues as needed.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams on preventive maintenance programs and equipment upgrades related to LNG systems.
- Attend ships in service and dry dock to oversee projects, upgrades and complex maintenance activities related to the LNG systems. Provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure successful and timely completion of projects.
- Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all LNG operations comply with international, national, and local regulations (e.g., MARPOL, SOLAS, IGF Code).
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments of LNG systems and operations.
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety protocols and emergency response procedures related to LNG handling and storage.
- Vendor and Supplier Coordination
- Liaise with Strategic Sourcing Team to identify opportunities for maintenance, parts and upgrades, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency of the LNG system
- Serve as the primary point of contact for LNG suppliers and port bunkering services, ensuring quality and availability.
- Develops detailed scope of work specifications for activities that needs to be performed by for 3rd party vendors and clear criteria for Quality Control (QC).
- Stakeholder Communication
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, port authorities, and industry organizations to ensure LNG operations align with industry standards.
- Act as the company representative in industry forums, regulatory meetings, and LNG-related conferences as needed.
- Fleet Support and Training
- Provide LNG-related training and guidance to crew members and relevant staff to ensure safe handling and operational standards are met.
- Coordinate with shipboard teams to ensure continuous training on LNG systems, emergency procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
- Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in LNG operations, marine engineering, or a similar field within the maritime or energy industry.
- Master’s Degree preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Deep understanding of LNG bunkering procedures, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
- Familiarity with maritime regulations and standards (e.g., MARPOL, SOLAS, IGF Code).
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Certification in LNG bunkering or hazardous materials handling is preferred.
- Strong analytical and technical skills with an emphasis on safety and environmental compliance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing regulations.
Travel: 25-50% ship-based travel
This position is classified as "in-office." As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida from Tuesday through Thursday. Employees may work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Some positions may require additional in-office time each week and final schedule is determined by your leader. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
