Position: Litigation Secretary
Location: Century City, CA (fully onsite for first 90 days and then transitions to 4 days onsite)
Pay: $80,000 to $100,000 annually
Experience: 3+ years of experience supporting attorneys directly on civil and business litigation matters.
Type: Full-time; Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday Friday, 9:00am 5:30pm (7.5-hour workday)
Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Litigation Secretary to join our dynamic law firm client!
Job Description:
- Assist from intake through trial preparation.
- Duties include creating pleading and discovery shells, generating Table of Contents (TOC) and Table of Authorities (TOA).
- Formatting pleadings for eFiling documents in state and federal courts meeting required deadlines; ensuring filings are in compliance with court rules.
- Assisting with case management; assembling motion papers and exhibits, coordinating filings of pleadings and briefs, and ensuring proper service.
- Calendaring deadlines, reserving court appearances, and monitoring case dockets.
- Completing Judicial Council forms.
- Serving discovery requests, assisting with document collection/production, and scheduling depositions.
- Ensuring case documents are saved/organized/maintained in iManage.
- Drafting engagement letters and conflict waivers, sending conflict checks, and opening new client matters on case management and billing systems.
Position Requirements:
- Must have experience eFiling/CM/ECF, PACER in state court and the Los Angeles Superior Court.
- Must be proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), iManage and Adobe.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to meet firm deadlines.
- Prior experience with Everlaw and calendaring software (CompuLaw or JuraLaw) is a plus.
