About the Job
PARRIS Law Firm is seeking a Litigation Secretary to join our team. Each candidate must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, possess superior communication skills, and have excellent attention to detail. They must also have a strong work ethic and be highly organized.
The ideal candidate will perform many different tasks but be primarily responsible for the following:
> Docketing for a substantial caseload
> Scheduling hearings, depositions, and meetings
> Ensuring all deadlines are met on time
> Preparing discovery responses
> Drafting pleadings
> Reviewing records
> Tracking case costs
> Filing court documents, including summons, complaints, motions, and other pleadings
> Routine contact with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and attorneys
Qualifications:
> Highly organized with strong attention to detail
> Ability to meet deadlines
> Excellent proof-reading skills
> Familiarity with legal terminology, legal document formatting, legal processes, and procedures
> Experience filing in State, Federal, and Appellate Courts preferred
> Capable of typing a minimum of 55 WPM
> Spanish speaking is a plus
Education/Experience:
> ABA Paralegal certification a plus
> Minimum of 3 years experience in civil litigation, employment, or personal injury preferred
