About the Job
Adams & Martin Group has partnered with a reputable law firm in Irvine who is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Litigation Secretary to join the firm's dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting attorneys in a fast-paced litigation environment, with the ability to manage a variety of tasks efficiently and accurately. Labor and employment experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Litigation Support
- Prepare and file legal documents in both State and Federal courts, including eFiling, creating tables of authority, bookmarking exhibits, redacting, and Bates stamping.
- Calendaring
- Manage and maintain attorneys' calendars, ensuring deadlines are met by accurately researching court rules, local rules, and judge-specific rules. Cross-check deadlines using software such as eDockets, Milana, or Compulaw.
- Administrative Tasks
- Arrange travel, prepare expense reports, enter attorney timesheets, and perform other administrative duties as assigned.
- Document Management
- Proofread, format, and finalize legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with court standards.
- Communication
- Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and court personnel, handling correspondence and scheduling.
- Critical Thinking
- Anticipate needs, solve problems proactively, and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines with precision.
Qualifications:
- Experience
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Litigation/Legal Assistant in a litigation environment.
- Technical Skills
- Proficient in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook). Familiarity with calendaring software such as eDockets, Milana, or Compulaw is required.
- eFiling Expertise
- Demonstrated experience with eFiling in State and Federal courts, including preparing and managing complex filings.
- Attention to Detail
- Exceptional proofreading, organization, and multi-tasking skills.
- Critical Thinking
- Ability to analyze situations, anticipate challenges, and deliver solutions efficiently.
- Preferred Experience
- Prior exposure to labor and employment law is advantageous but not mandatory.
