About the Job
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of legal sources, including statutes, judicial rulings, legal articles, and codes.
- Draft legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, and appeals for attorney review and approval.
- Investigate the facts and laws relevant to a case to identify causes of action and prepare the case accordingly.
- Assist with the collection, review, summary, and organization of both electronic and paper discovery materials.
- Prepare trial binders and other materials to aid in case preparation.
- File pleadings both in person and electronically with the court clerk.
- Draft affidavits and maintain accurate document files.
- Serve or coordinate the delivery of subpoenas to witnesses and involved parties.
Job Requirements:
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in paralegal studies, or a bachelor's degree in another field coupled with an ABA-approved paralegal certificate or equivalent experience in the specialized area.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Word.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent cite-checking and proofreading abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage repetitive tasks with ease.
- Capability to work efficiently under tight deadlines, prioritize tasks, and multitask when necessary.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
