Are you a seasoned litigation paralegal with a passion for the intricacies of the legal system? Do you thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments where every day brings new challenges and opportunities? If so, we are looking for someone like you to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a highly experienced team of legal professionals on complex litigation cases. You will be an integral part of our team, supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation from initiation through discovery and trial, and up to appeal if necessary. This position is permanent and full-time, providing an excellent opportunity for professional growth and learning.
Responsibilities:
As a Litigation Paralegal, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
1. Conducting legal research and initial case assessments.
2. Drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate documents and filing them with the court.
3. Performing administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics, etc).
4. Assisting attorneys in preparing for trials and court proceedings.
5. Supporting attorneys in a legal office or courtroom.
6. Manage the discovery process including the collection, review, and production of documents.
7. Maintaining an organized and up-to-date case file and docket system.
8. Assisting with case settlement negotiation and documentation.
9. Conducting client interviews and maintain general contact with the client, so long as the client remains the responsibility of the attorney.
10. Coordinating and attending depositions, hearings, trials, and other court appearances.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
2. Proficiency in legal document preparation and review, trial preparation, legal case evaluation, and legal procedures.
3. Experience with drafting pleadings, legal analysis, and providing legal assistance.
4. Strong writing skills, particularly in legal writing.
5. A paralegal certificate or a degree in a related field.
6. Proficiency in using legal database software and other legal research tools.
7. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
8. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
10. High level of integrity and confidentiality.
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
12. MUST be OK working onsite in the office
