We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to provide critical support to our legal team in managing complex litigation matters. The ideal candidate will play a key role in case management, assisting attorneys with all phases of litigation from case intake through trial preparation and discovery management. This role requires strong legal knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, clients, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
Discovery Management
Draft and prepare discovery documents, including deposition notices, interrogatories, requests for production, and subpoenas.
Manage and organize discovery materials, including exhibits, document productions, and deposition transcripts using Clio and Everlaw.
Summarize deposition transcripts, review and analyze discovery responses, and assist with discovery deficiency letters.
Assist in the preparation of motions related to discovery, including motions to compel and motions to quash.
Litigation Support
Provide comprehensive litigation support, including preparing case files for hearings, trials, and depositions.
Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents under attorney supervision.
Coordinate with court reporters, manage attorney calendars, and ensure all deadlines are tracked and met.
Facilitate communication with the court, chambers, opposing counsel, and clients to support case progression.
Attend weekly or bi-weekly case status meetings to provide updates and discuss strategy.
Ethics Investigations and Filings
Assist attorneys in managing ethics investigations, including drafting correspondence and tracking deadlines for responses.
Submit required filings to the Office of Attorney Ethics and maintain complete records of all communications and filings.
Miscellaneous Litigation-Related Tasks
Assist with in-office depositions, including organizing exhibits and ensuring the availability of all necessary materials.
Provide additional litigation support and paralegal services as directed by attorneys in charge of cases.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification is strongly preferred.
At least 2 years in litigation paralegal work
Proficiency in legal software, including Clio and Everlaw, is desirable.
Strong legal research, drafting, and communication skills.
Exceptional organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple complex cases and deadlines.
Familiarity with ethical standards and legal procedures.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
